No parent should have to suffer the pain and loss of a child. This post is from one of our Norquay parents, about a her daughter’s remarkable efforts in memory of a special boy named Grady.
One year ago today, my friend’s three-year-old son lost his battle against AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). AJ and I will be participating in the 30th ChildRun on Sunday, May 31, 2015, for our second year in a row. ChildRun supports paediatric oncology research and treatment areas at BC Children’s Hospital.AJ single-handedly raised $115 dollars and pilfered her piggy bank, donating $30 of her own money! This is a great event to raise awareness and teach your children about social responsibility, hopefully a cure can be discovered in their lifetime! You can either join us in the run (follow’s AJ’s link to register) or donate to help AJ reach her goal. Last year, we had a lot of fun. Post run, there are activity tents and the kids get a participation medal. Donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt. Donations of any amount are welcome. Visit AJ’s fundraising page here: https://secure.bcchf.ca/
